Rabbi Ovadia Yosef (1920–2013) was Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel and the foremost halachic authority of contemporary Sephardic Jewry, working to restore Sephardic tradition. His funeral in Jerusalem drew hundreds of thousands. He is buried there.
