Rabbi Nachman (1772–1810), great-grandson of the Baal Shem Tov, founded Breslov Hasidism. His teaching emphasizes simple faith, joy, and personal prayer (hitbodedut). His grave in Uman draws tens of thousands of pilgrims on Rosh Hashanah.
