Rabbi Dov Ber of Mezeritch

Rabbi Dov Ber (c. 1700–1772), successor to the Baal Shem Tov, organized and spread the Hasidic movement. His disciples founded the great Hasidic dynasties. The 19th of Kislev, his hilula, is also marked as the liberation festival of his disciple the Alter Rebbe.
