Rabbi Isaac Luria

Rabbi Isaac Luria (1534–1572), known as the Ari ("the Lion"), was the master of Safed Kabbalah. His teachings, transmitted by his disciple Chaim Vital, reshaped Jewish mystical thought. He died young and is buried in Safed.
